Computational Fluid Dynamic Modelling of Fully-Suspended Slurry Flows in Horizontal Pipes with Different Solids Concentrations

چکیده

This research work is a significant step toward further understanding of the β-σ two-fluid model for simulation fully-suspended slurry flows in pipeline systems, with goal enhancing its potential scientific and engineering applications. Particularly, focus study characterization handling two main empirical coefficients model, namely, β σ, which require case-specific tuning based on given set experimental data. Reference made to relevant case transport horizontal pipes infinite length. The influence σ different features fluid dynamic solution has been extensively investigated, considering also role played by specific testing conditions. Based these findings, procedure determining appropriate values developed, requires only measurements, namely concentration profile from test at moderate concentration, hydraulic gradient another same high concentration. satisfactorily tested against published data pipe fine glass bead sand slurry.
